What Does the Parameters for NVR Selector Mean?

Frames Per Second

1-9 FPS: Low level activity areas such as an entrance door or parking lot.
10-20 FPS: Intermediate action where no specific detailed information is required.
21-30 FPS: Fast moving objects and objects close to camera that need to be free from motion blur.

Resolution

The level of detail that can be shown from an image. The higher the resolution, the more you will see in the frame of a picture. Surveillance Station supports the original resolutions offered by your camera specification. NVR Design Tool offers 5 resolutions as a reference to help you estimate the suitable DiskStation model.

Video Format

H.264 encoder use inter frame prediction to reduce video data. In most cases offers better compression than MJPEG. However, it requires better decoding capability on the client PC.
